A severe wind warning through early evening for central and north-central Montana, including Great Falls and Cut Bank.

Winds blowing up to 65 mph.

Sustained winds in these two cities have fluctuated between 35 and 45 mph with gusts of 45 to 55 mph.

Winds easing after 6 p.m.

Radar shows mountain snow in west-central Montana around Missoula and in the Bridger Range near Bozeman.

A warm front will introduce milder air to Montana late Friday and Saturday before an arctic cold front moves across the state on Sunday.

Winds will pick up again in central Montana on Saturday.

A high wind watch has been issued for this area, including Great Falls. Temperatures will warm to well above normal on Saturday.

It will definitely be the best day to be outdoors, as much colder and snowier weather sets in on Sunday and Monday.

Snow accumulation will be possible on both days throughout the state.

Lows tonight in the upper 10s and 20s.

Friday highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

The highs will warm to the 40s and lower 50s on Saturday before dropping to the 20s and 30s on Sunday.

At the start of next week, the highs will be in the digits and tens with lows well below zero east of the digit divide above the west.

Moderate temperatures by Wednesday, but still well below normal.
