Scotland Weather Update – full list of flood alerts and Met Office warnings in place


Wet weather is causing chaos around Scotland, with heavy rains expected to continue through the weekend.

A number of warnings have been issued for much of Scotland due to flooding and further disturbances are likely, according to the the Met Office.

Flood line have issued flood warnings and flood alerts remaining in place until Monday, with most parts of the country forecast for some sort of rain over the weekend.

Flooding of homes and businesses as well as disruption to bus and train services are likely during this period of heavy rains.

Water on the road surface can create dangerous driving conditions across the country, with trips likely to take longer than usual.

So stay safe and be careful if you are on the roads to go out in the next few days.

Flood warnings

When a flood warning is issued, it indicates a higher severity level.

Flood warnings are in place for various parts of Scotland throughout the weekend.

If a flood alert is issued, it indicates that an area needs to prepare, including building defenses and keeping abreast of the latest flood alerts.
