Pune is expected to experience light rainfall till May 22, according to IMD

While Pune experienced its first wave of pre-monsoon showers on Thursday, the daytime temperature reported a significant drop on Friday, according to data from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

On Friday, the daytime temperature in the city of Pune was 32.6 degrees Celsius, 4.1 degrees below normal.

Meanwhile, the overnight temperature in the city of Pune was 1.1 degrees warmer than normal at 24.3 degrees Celsius.

Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds are also likely in Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Osmanabad, Nanded, Latur, Nagpur, Bhandara, Gondia and Chandrapur, according to IMD forecasts.

Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the monsoon is expected to arrive between the first and second week of next month, India’s Meteorological Department said.

On Friday, Mumbai, Thane, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada experienced cloudy weather due to the movement of multi-layered medium low clouds in these areas ahead of the pre-monsoon season.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in Santacruz were 33.6°C and 29°C respectively, with a relative humidity of 69%. In Colaba, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 32.6°C and 27.5°C respectively, with a relative humidity of 82%.
