Moderate rain with probable thunderstorm

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorm activity over Mumbai over the next two days as a result of the retreating monsoon. Other parts of the country may also experience moderate thunderstorms and rainfall over the coming week.

According to IMD forecast for the next 48 hours, Mumbai will experience mostly cloudy skies with light to moderate rain/thunderstorms in the city and suburbs.

According to IMD official KS Hosalikar, one cyclonic circulation is found over the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh and another over central parts of the southern Bay of Bengal.

“All severe weather warnings for India were issued by IMD today for the next 5 days. Possibility of light rain and thunderstorms over the city and nearby areas for the next two days. northern parts of Raigad district, Navi Mumbai, Ratnagiri, ghat Pune and Satara regions have chances of moderate thunderstorms,” the official added.

On Thursday, the minimum temperature recorded in Santacruz was 26.5°C and the maximum was 31.6°C, as well as the relative humidity of 85%. While Colaba experienced a minimum temperature of 26.5°C and a maximum temperature of 30.7°C with a relative humidity of 89%.

Meanwhile, according to data from System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), Mumbai recorded a good air quality index (AQI) on Thursday with an AQI of 24, while other cities like Delhi, Pune and Ahmedabad recorded an AQI of 31, 33 and 30 respectively.
