Heavy showers are also expected over Odisha, Andhra Pradesh coast, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh over the next two to three days. meanwhile, the area of low pressure over the central western Bay of Bengal and adjacent Andhra Pradesh became less marked. According to the IMD, the associated cyclonic circulation is now located on the coast of Andhra Pradesh and its surroundings in the lower tropospheric levels.
India’s eastern states including West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and Odisha are expected to receive heavy rains over the next few days. “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls very likely over Bihar and Chhattisgarh during 05; Odisha on 05 and 06; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 05, 08 and 09; Eastern Madhya Pradesh from 05-07 and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Western Madhya Pradesh from 06-08 October 2022,” the MeT department said.
Heavy showers are forecast over several parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand till October 8th. The meteorological agency in its press release said: “Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rain with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms/lightning most likely over Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh from 06-06. 08 and Eastern Uttar Pradesh from 05 to 09 October 2022.”
Meanwhile, isolated very heavy rains are likely over Uttarakhand and several parts of Uttar Pradesh between 6th and 8th October. Extremely heavy isolated falls are also expected over Uttarakhand and northwest Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
Southern Indian states including Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are expected to receive heavy rains till October 9. -09; Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 05, 06, 08 & 09; Rayalaseema on 05, 08 & 09; Telangana on 05 & 06 and Interior Karnataka on October 09, 2022.”
Isolated heavy falls with thunderstorms or lightning are also forecast over northeastern states including Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh over the next few days.
