Temperatures across Montana warmed into the upper 50s and 60s in the center and east into the 70s in the Missoula area!

Winds were strong to the east, with sustained winds in the low 30s and gusting up to 52mph in Jordan.

A wind advisory until 9 p.m. for Fort Peck Lake with a strong wind warning for eastern Montana until 7 p.m.

A fire weather warning for the same area as the fire danger is extreme with strong winds and very dry air.

A strong northwesterly flow is keeping the wind machine in eastern Montana.

Western Montana is closer to the high pressure on the West Coast.

It is the hottest part of the state.

Clear, cool skies tonight with sunny, mild skies in the east tomorrow and warm skies in the west.

A weak storm system will leave Canada late Friday and early Saturday, bringing a few showers to the central and eastern regions and snow to the Absaroka and Beartooth Mountains.

Slightly cooler but still mild this weekend, then back to warm weather next week.

Lows tonight in the 30s to under 40s.

Highs tomorrow in the east-central upper 50s, most of the states in the 60s, and in the west-central lower 70s.

The highs will cool down to the 50s and 60s this weekend, then return to the 60s and 70s next week.
