Heavy rains are expected across the state for the next 2 days; Yellow alert for Konkan, Palghar, Raigad

While the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday in its 24-hour forecast predicted light to moderate rains with the possibility of heavy spells of isolated weather in Mumbai, the meteorological department also forecast that heavy rains are expected throughout the month. Meanwhile, IMD said on Monday that fairly extensive rainfall with heavy isolated falls is very likely over eastern Rajasthan over the next five days, and over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh over the next four days, and on Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Gujarat over the next three days.

Meanwhile, India received 8.1mm of precipitation today, 65% more than the normal weighted average of 4.9mm, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
