Following the upcoming election, the Municipal Corporation (MC) has called on flex sign printers and printing press owners not to violate state advertising policy.
Hardeep Singh, co-curator of MC, arranged a meeting with leading flex printers and asked them to apply for a NoC from MC before printing flex sign, hoarding or any other advertising material.
MC officials found that commercial organizations, branded stores, shopping complexes, political and religious activists regularly degraded the city. The advertising wing, which is already facing a staff shortage, has made regular efforts to remove illegal billboards and flex panels from the city’s markets.
Now the elections are fast approaching and degradation is said to increase in the city.
Sushant Bhatia, head of the advertising wing, said: “The display of a billboard or billboard is not illegal, but the party involved must take NoC from the MC to post signs and file the signs. charges. In accordance with government advertising policy, no printer may publish any billboard or advertising material without the approval of the MC. The practice of degradation keeps staff busy 24 hours a day. Removing tall palisades and utility poles is quite risky. So we decided to put a stop to the practice, ”Bhatia said.
Previously, the advertising wing had identified eight business organizations, which regularly degraded the city. Commissioner MC had written to the police commissioner to register FIRs against eight people, who regularly degraded the city.
