Delhi weather update: Heavy rain hits nation’s capital; more showers expected this weekend

Delhi weather update: The nation’s capital witnessed heavy rain overnight Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the nation’s capital would experience similar spells of rain throughout the weekend.

The temperature on Saturday and Sunday is expected to be around 28 degrees Celsius.

IMD said moderate rain is also likely through the weekend and Monday could see light showers.

“Isolated/scattered heavy falls and thunderstorms/lightning are highly likely over Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh 7-11; Haryana 8-9; eastern Rajasthan 7-9 and western Madhya Pradesh 07-10; Eastern Madhya Pradesh 07 & 11 Oct 2022,” IMD tweeted.

“Isolated very heavy rains are very likely over Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh from 07-09; eastern Uttar Pradesh on 07 October 2022,” he added.

“Isolated heavy falls and very likely thunderstorms/lightning over Gujarat region 7-10; Madhya Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh coast and Yanam 7-9; Marathwada 7-9; Konkan & Goa and Telangana 07; Rayalaseema & Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal 07-11; North Interior Karnataka 07-09-10; South Interior Karnataka 09-11; Kerala 09-10 October 2022,” IMD added.

According to the IMD, fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rains with isolated heavy falls very likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the 07th: West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan and Sikkim on the 8th and 9th; Odisha on 9 and 10; Bihar on October 11, 2022.
