The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today continued the ongoing green alert for Mumbai due to the absence of significant weather systems over the city.
According to IMD, on Saturday the city will experience mostly cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in the city and suburbs. There is a possibility of occasional intense spells in isolated locations.
Rainfall over Mumbai over the past 24 hours has remained below 16.5mm (millimeters), with Santacruz recording 7.3mm and Colaba recording 16.4mm.
According to IMD, Mumbai experiences very heavy downpours when the rainfall crosses the 100mm mark.
Water levels in lakes
The stock of water in the seven lakes supplying the city with water has reached 12.89.435 million liters in the past 24 hours. At the same time last year, it was 9.36.933 million liters.
High tide and low tide
Meanwhile, a high tide of 3.77 meters is likely to occur at 10:26 a.m. in Mumbai today. Also, a low tide of 2.23 meters is expected at 4:28 p.m.
The next high tide of 3.14 meters is expected at 10:00 p.m. and the next low tide of 1.17 meters is likely to occur at 4:09 a.m. on July 26.
