City of Memphis releases winter weather update Wednesday after ice storm – FOX13 News Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The City of Memphis released a winter weather update Monday morning.

According to authorities, City Hall is open for regular business hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Raleigh Community Center and Cunningham Community are closed until power is restored.

Galloway Golf Course is closed until power is restored.

According to Public Works:

  • 568 felled trees were reported to the OEM
  • 519 trees were cleared from city streets
  • 49 total number of open service requests
  • 8 city crews are working to clean up reported downed trees

Many recovery efforts are still underway and will take time, the city said. There are currently 43 traffic lights that remain out of service due to power outages.

Crews from MLGW and other out-of-state utility company crews continue to make progress to restore power, officials said.

At 11 a.m., 37,134 customers are still without electricity. It may take several days for power to be restored in some areas.

Customers with electricity are at 91.18%.

Regular garbage and recycling collections resumed on Monday.

Customers will experience bulk waste and out-of-cart service delays.

Customers are asked to drop their carts off at the curb on their usual day and leave them until collected.
