Alcon Publishing Unit Strengthens Ties With Titan Books – Deadline

Alcon Publishing, the book unit of the production entity behind films and series like Blade Runner: 2049 and The extentextends its relationship with Titan Books.

Starting in 2023, the two companies plan to commission original fiction across multiple genres. Titan Books will publish the titles and Penguin Random House will distribute them in North America.

Alcon Publishing, led by the company’s publishing director Jeff Conner, launched an existing joint venture with Titan in 2018, leading to comic books, graphic novels and art books based on specific properties. from Alcon.

As part of the expanded deal, four new original titles are currently in the works. The first novel scheduled for release next March is Suborbital 7 by John Shirley, a book the companies describe as “a techno-military thriller.” Plans call for two to three novels per year from the collaboration, and Titan and Alcon expect to reveal additional details about these projects soon.

“We’ve built a great working relationship with Titan over the past four years,” Conner said. “And Titan is equally active in literature, releasing a strong mix of licensed and original books across multiple genres. This fits perfectly with Alcon’s own plans to create original fiction.

Titan co-CEOs Nick Landau and Vivian Cheung said the aim was to bring the “vibrant partnership into the wider landscape of prose publishing, working globally with some of the authors the most exciting of its kind”.

Alcon Entertainment co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove, who co-founded the company with former FedEx CEO Fred Smith, said the company has long harbored ambitions to participate in original fiction. “As a company deeply invested in the storytelling industry in all its forms, we welcome this opportunity to forge new creative relationships,” they said.
